Hollis Deli and Grill on Hollis Avenue is a neighborhood staple that blends the charm of a classic deli with the heartiness of a grill spot and a touch of an old-school herb shop. If you’re looking for a no-frills, satisfying sandwich or a quick meal that feels like a slice of Queens life, this is the kind of place where locals gather, especially during breakfast and lunch hours.

The space itself isn’t fancy — think straightforward counter service with a steady flow of regulars picking up their favorites. The vibe reflects the area’s diversity and working-class roots, with familiar aromas of grilled meat and fresh bread filling the air. It’s the type of spot where you can grab a strong coffee, a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and maybe something like a chopped cheese hero or wings over rice, making for a filling midday break or a nostalgic start to the morning. The lemonade here, seemingly simple, often complements heavier meals well, balancing the flavors with a refreshing zing.

People tend to come here knowing exactly what they want or exploring the sandwich lineup that includes everything from chicken cutlet rolls to turkey pastrami heroes — plenty of classic deli-style options that feel hearty without being overpolished. The seating and décor don’t demand attention; instead, the focus is on the food and quick, reliable service. So, you’ll likely find a mix of nearby workers, families, and longtime residents stopping by for a familiar bite, often during the bustling morning rush or the lunch window.

Given the location in Queens Village, Hollis Deli and Grill fits perfectly into the local rhythm — a dependable spot where simple comfort food is served with consistency. It’s not a place to linger for hours, but rather somewhere to enjoy a well-made sandwich or salad, often treating you to a memory of old-school deli culture with touches like their traditional orange juice cartons. If you’re exploring the neighborhood or settling in for a day of errands, it’s a reliable stop to refuel with straightforward, thoughtful grub.

The BEC was & the coffee was good too. Be prepared for a small wait but relatively fast service. They even sell the old school oj cartons I used to drink out of as a kid. BEC is my mom's favorite breakfast sandwich so the whole experience felt nostalgic.
